Our U6/U8 programs
To modernize and accelerate the growth of our players, we have created our academy programs. Similar programs in clubs around the world have been shown to be effective in maximizing development and fun! The emphasis is on the development of each player. This emphasis on development ensures our youngest kids get a jump start learning the basic technical skills required to be successful players for many years after they graduate from the academy.
In addition to developing our youngest players, we also work with new coaches to prepare them as they step into coaching u9 and above aged teams. Volunteer coaches will work with our paid trainers to help run the grassroots and academy sessions. Under this program our coaches are able to learn from a professional about how to coach effectively.
Our U6 & U8 Trainers
Are paid trainers. While our U10-U19 recreational teams rely on volunteer coaches. Our U6 and U8 academy have paid trainers leading every practice and scrimmage. This is to ensure every child has the most positive experience, and develops the love of soccer we hope every person has.
Provide support and encouragement to the young player as they start their journey in sports
Explain the exercises to our players and encourage them to explore on the field without the pressure of making the “winning” play.
Use small-sided games to reduce the ratio of kids to ball so each player is more involved in the game.
Fall (10 weeks in August-mid October) and Spring (8 weeks in April-May) sessions each year

Thanks for supporting CVFC as we build and grow together!
We start training in less than two weeks and we are super excited to start working with your kids!
The first training session is Monday April 10th at Del Paso Manor Elementary School
Players will get divided up into different groups to work with our trainers and our volunteer coaches. We will play 2-3 different fun games, for about 30 minutes. After that, players will scrimmage together, led by our volunteer coaches. The total training time will be about an hour.
Parents/ Guardians, we need your help! Please come and be ready to help us with the sessions! Our goal is to be able to train you and get you ready for coaching the players when they reach u10 and begin playing on teams in the coming years.
